Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka is a native of Minsk which is the capital city of Belarus. Her father Sergey (d. in 2019) was an Ice hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka was born in Minsk Belarus on 5 May 1998. Aryna is the holder of twelve WTA Singles titles, one of which was named Grand Slam at the Australian Open 2023. Additionally, she's a fantastic doubles player. She's won two more Majors in this category, the US Open 2019 and the Australian Open 2021 won both by Elise Mertens. This year, the Belgian took home each of the WTA 1000 and Miami Open in Indian Wells with her Belgian teammate, and completed what is known as the Sunshine Double. Just four pairs of women's tennis were able to achieve this feat. The Belarusian rose from second place to third in the singles world rankings on August 23rd, 2021. Her highest rank came in the month of January in 2023. The Belarusian rose to the top of the doubles rankings in the year following, having winning in Melbourne. That made her the only Belarusian tennis player to have success on the court. Dmitry Tursunov, a former Russian tennis pro, worked with her from the 2018 season up to the final and the beginning of the 2020 season. Dieter Kindlmann became her trainer from the month of August through September 2020. Antonio Dubrov, her fellow countryman is coaching her for the past year. Her top idols include Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
